On April 22, Chang Xiaoling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP), led a delegation to Hebei Normal University (HEBNU) for research and exchange on topics including international talent cultivation and foreign language education and teaching reform. Zeng Zhi’ an, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of HEBNU, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Also present were Hou Hui, Deputy General Manager of FLTRP’s International Talent Development Center; Zhao Ying, Associate Director of the Higher Education Marketing Center; Du Hongpo, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Language Education Publishing Branch; and other department heads. HEBNU representatives included heads of the Division of International Cooperation, the Dean's Office, the School of International Cultural Exchanges, the School of Foreign Studies, and the Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Research.

Vice President Zeng Zhi’an extended a warm welcome to Deputy Editor-in-Chief Chang Xiaoling and her delegation. He noted that international talent cultivation is a core component of HEBNU’s "Double First-Class" construction and its "15th Five-Year Plan" development strategy. Over the years, HEBNU has maintained a strong cooperative relationship with FLTRP, and both sides should further leverage their respective strengths to deepen collaboration. Relevant administrative offices and schools should work in synergy, guided by the needs of faculty and students, and focus on areas such as Sino-foreign cooperative education, international Chinese language education, bilingual course development, and the enhancement of cross-cultural competence among faculty and students, so as to advance internationalization in a multidimensional and substantive manner.

Chang Xiaoling introduced FLTRP’s background and highlighted the press’s practical achievements and resource accumulation in serving the internationalization strategies of universities and promoting international talent cultivation. She expressed FLTRP’s strong willingness to align closely with HEBNU’s internationalization strategy, tailor customized support plans based on the university’s actual needs, and help elevate HEBNU’s overall capacity for international education.

The symposium laid a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation between the two sides. Both parties agreed to strengthen communication and coordination, promote resource sharing, jointly explore new pathways for cultivating internationally oriented talent, and contribute to enhancing HEBNU’s international influence and the global competence of its faculty and students.
