On December 5, 2019，the 4th China VR / AR / MR Creation Competition Jinduo Award Ceremony was held in Beijing and the best VR film and television award was Ups and Downs, the students work of Digital Media Art Department of College of Fine Arts & Design in HNU.

The VR short film Ups and Downs was created by six students Liu Jie, Zhang Zitong, Shen Jianhao, Xu Yawen, Xian Jiaomin and Sun qiaofang under the guidance of two professors Liu Chengsuo and Chen Zhiyong. The short film uses immersive image means like panoramic photography and three-dimensional animation and makes the best of the visual metaphor to express the concrete life. The short film weakens the external plot and conflict. It focuses on the internal conflict caused by the change of three-dimensional animation scene so that the audience can understand life by watching this film.

The China VR / AR / MR Creation Competition is jointly hosted by the School of Journalism and Communication of Beijing Normal University and People’s Video, under the guidance of Beijing Normal University and China Federation of Internet Societies. This event is an authoritative VR creation competition in China, known as the Oscar of VR field. It is the insistence on the cultivation of innovative talents and the embodiment of teaching achievements by the College of Fine Arts & Design of HNU.
